We were delighted to collaborate with the talented millinery students from Morley College London’s Chelsea Centre, who designed and handcrafted three bespoke hats for Karen Cummings-Palmer, Creative Strategy Committee Chair of the Fashion Minority Alliance Committee and wellbeing entrepreneur.
As part of a live creative project students designed the initial concepts alongside material exploration through to exquisite handcrafted pieces for a project that celebrated the importance of real world creative opportunities for students to develop skills and confidence beyond the classroom. Two of these beautiful creations were worn at Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot, one of the most iconic celebrations of millinery and fashion in the world.
This project was more than about creating hats. It was an opportunity to give aspiring designers a real-world creative brief to help them develop their skills, confidence and professional experience while showcasing their incredible craftsmanship.
A huge thank you to the students and tutors for their creativity, passion and dedication. We’re proud to support initiatives that champion emerging talent and create opportunities for the next generation of creatives.
Opportunity creates confidence. Confidence creates careers. Careers create the next generation of opportunities.
